The staff and students of the Faculty of Computer Science participated in the enlightening “Cyber Defense Innovations” event. The event, organized by TrendMicro in collaboration with ITI, took place on December 16 at the ITI premises in Knowledge City, New Administrative Capital. The gathering, which included over ten universities, aimed to address the cybersecurity challenges and their crucial role in shaping our daily lives and work environments.
MIU secured a commendable position in the event thanks to the outstanding achievements of CSC student Omar Hisham Shahin, who won 3rd place in the Capture The Flag competition (CTF).
Two more CSC students, namely Yusuf Mohamed Salem and Hassan Hesham Bassiouny showcased their exceptional skills and dedication, securing positions among the top 20 participants. The competition, centered around Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attacks, provided our students with invaluable practical cybersecurity skills and profound insights.
Among the distinguished staff attending the event were Dr. Ayman Nabil, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Dr. Taraggy Mohiy, Eng. Heba Osama, Eng. Mohamed Khaled, and several senior-year students.
