MIU Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the October 1973 Victory

MIU hosted a lecture entitled “The Egyptian-Israeli Conflict from 1967 to 1973 – Deception, Suffering and Victory”, on Wednesday, 11 October, 2023, in celebration of the 50^th anniversary of the October 1973 victory.

Our guest speaker was Major General Ayman Hob Al-Din, who participated in the 1967 War, the War of Attrition, and the 1973 War as commander of Air Defense Battalion 418.

The lecture was attended by students and staff. It tackled the deception method that caused the 1967 war, the hardships the people and the army endured to prepare Egypt for war and how the country’s capabilities were utilized to arm our Air Defense Forces.

The lecture also highlighted how Air Defense Battalion 418 shot down 17 Israeli aircrafts and became a role model for Air Defense Forces during the October War.

The attendees enjoyed the lecture and were delighted to meet one of our war heroes.
